A new episode of another Oxygen true crime series, Accident, Suicide or Murder, is airing in place of the Kelly Siegler-led investigative program. This is the second week in a row that Cold Justice has been missing from the schedule, so Crime-TV.com reached out to learn what’s happening with one of TV’s best true crime show.
Here’s what we know about the future of the series.
Why isn’t Cold Justice on tonight?
There’s no mystery here; there were only four episodes planned for this summer.
Cold Justice season 6 consists of “Holiday Homicide” (which aired July 10 and focused on the Jerry Humphrey case), “Deadly Premonition” (July 17 and the Steven Felts case), “A Touch of Evidence” (July 24 and the Leola Jordan case), and “Unnatural Causes” (July 31 and the Harold Vigil case).
Arrests were made in multiple episodes this season, though cases are still working their way through the criminal justice system due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When will Cold Justice return?
That’s what viewers don’t know. No official announcement has been made about the future of the series, and honestly, it’s too soon to tell if the network will renew it for Cold Justice season 7 or not. Usually a channel takes some time after a season ends to evaluate the future of any TV series.
However, given that Cold Justice has become one of the shows that Oxygen is known for, that it has a devoted audience that’s followed it across two networks (remember that it originally aired on TNT), and that it’s produced by Dick Wolf (who has had a few shows on Oxygen and two crime drama franchises on sister network NBC), there are a lot of reasons for Kelly and company to get another season.
Crime-TV.com will update fans when Cold Justice returns. Until then, viewers can watch all four season 6 episodes in reruns as Oxygen does sometimes re-air them. Unfortunately, the show is not available on either iTunes or Amazon Video.
